Well its been just a six months since I have posted anything here. It's been a crazy six months to say the least. School was tough this year. Two new employees to work with and a student clinician each semester. I love my new co-workers and wouldn't trade them for anyone, but I'm glad that the school year is behind us.
So, what has been keeping me soooo busy? I'm not sure.. I can't put my finger on it... But its summertime, my favorite time of year just because I get to spend time doing what I want to do, gardening, scrapping and reading.
!
My Marine is in the hill country of Texas right now, awaiting transfer to another MOS. We visited over the Easter break and had a Mahvalous time. He got his first tatoo this past weekend (against my wishes). Guess that means he is truly on his own and not my little boy anymore. Hope it hurts like hell, so he doesn't get another one, LOL.

How about a couple of pictures of my yard. This is before my husband decided to tear it up to all a HUGE propane tank right in the middle of "My Space". I was soooo mad at him, I asked him to please not put it right behind my greenhouse, but did he listen, No... It upset me so much, sent me spiraling down into a really dark and not happy place. I was so hurt that he didn't take my wishes into consideration, its not like it was the only place he could have put it.... Anyway, he agreed to have it moved, of course, its going to cost of more money to move it but he should have thought of that before he stuck it in my little corner. Okay, now I'm ready to show some pictures.
This is Marilyn Quayle. Itsn't she a beauty.
I also remembered what has kept me soo busy. In January I went to visit my son in South Carolina for his graduation.

In February, the day before Mardi Gras to be exact, my 72 year old mother fell and broke her arm, well she lives alone and had been falling and was disoriented a lot before she broke her arm, so the doctors didn't want her home alone and really, how could she do anything for herself with one arm, soooo she came to live with me and my husband for about 3 weeks. Once she was here we realized that she had mislabeled some of her gerneric medications so was taking zannex instead of her bladder control pills. Her doctor had recently taken her off of some medications and started her on some different ones, but she forgot and continued to take all of her medications. Its a wonder she didn't break her neck instead of just her arm.
She is better now, and living back at home on her own. All signs of confusion and falling is gone.
So February and March were filled with taking care of her, and with her broken arm she couldn't drive, so I became her hired taxi, LOL.
April was filled with coordinating the Louisiana state wide testing program for our school and an Easter trip to visit my Marine who is now a Private First Class.
The two of us.
Then along came May and the end of school.. More garden shots.

Oh my gosh...you have been busy! What a great shot of you and your son!
Love that Marilyn Quayle !!!
Your roses and hibiscus are lovely. We live in NW Florida, and I've never had much luck with anything but Knockouts. I've tried a few floribundas like Iceberg, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and Ruffled Cloud without much success. What's your secret to growing such beautiful roses in a sticky climate?
I forgot to say that you must be very proud of your son and that you seem to have a plateful of responsibilities. Your garden must be a great place of peace for you.
